Season 2020-21 Division 1 Conference B – Luncarty

As we await the resumption of football we thought it only polite to introduce our opponents in the EoSFL First Division Conference B. We cannot wait for the current restrictions to be lifted to allow to start playing competitively once again. There will be some well known and several new opponents this season. We are really looking forward to welcoming all of these teams to East Shore Park this season.

Luncarty and Newburgh have a long history of playing against each other. Until the recent North South split in the Junior leagues this was a regular fixture in our calendar

Luncarty’s acceptance into the EoSFL structure sets a precedent with Luncarty’s home ground, Brownlands Park, sitting just North of the Lowland/Highland league split.

More signing news at Newburgh

We are delighted to be able to announce that Craig Robinson has signed back up at East Shore Park for another season.

Craig joined us in season 2018-19 and made a big impact at the club scoring 25 goals in his 53 appearances for the ‘Burgh.

A steady influence around the club Craig we look forward to seeing Craig notch plenty more goals in the coming season.

Lochore Welfare spent their last season in Junior football in the South Super League having been promoted the previous season.

Manager James Adam is a former captain of the team and took over the helm at Central Park in October 2018. Under his management the team rose up the South league eventually gaining promotion to the Super League.

Lochgelly Albert are one of the teams Newburgh will be most familiar with next season as we both played in the East Region South Junior league last season.

Newburgh were successful in both visits to Gardiners Park last season winning 2 – 5 and 1 – 2 however Lochgelly were the winners 4 – 2 in the only fixture at East Shore Park.

Heriot-Watt University will be another new side for Newburgh to face this season. The two clubs have never previously met. Newburgh’s central defender Sam Kirkham is a Heriot -Watt alumni.

Attached to the academic organisation the club draws on the the student body for players. They have a good history of players moving into senior football the most recent being Anton Dowdes who now plays with Falkirk FC.

Hawick will be a new destination for Newburgh and we are really looking forward to visiting Albert Park.

Hawick Royal Alberts home ground has previously been used as a greyhound race track in the 80’s and 90’s.

Hawick Royal Albert have been crowned champions of the East of Scotland Premier Division on three previous occasions 66-67, 67-68 & 73-74 seasons.

New signing joins the ‘Burgh

We are all delighted to announce another new signings for next season. We would like to give a big ‘Burgh welcome to Greg McColm.

Greg has a huge amount of experience in the game and is a welcome addition to the ‘Burgh squad. He is a confident central defender who is comfortable on the ball, he has all the qualities that manager Scott Hudson is looking for in his side.

Scott was delighted to secure Greg’s signature “Greg is an outstanding footballer and is a really fit lad. He is comfortable on the ball and strong in a tackle. We have been speaking to Greg for some time and I am delighted to have signed him up for the coming season”.

Eyemouth United return to the East of Scotland football league set up this season having spent last season in abeyance.

Newburgh will visit Warner Park for the first time this season and we are all thoroughly looking forward to an away day in the Borders

In season 1959-60 Eyemouth United reached the quarter final of the Scottish cup losing out to eventual cup runners up Kilmarnock 2 goals to 1
