Newburgh are delighted to have secured contract extensions with two more members of the squad as manager Scott Hudson continues to work behind the scenes.
Ben Scarborough and Jack Hutchison have both agreed extensions to their current contract taking them into season 2020-21 with Newburgh
Both Jack and Ben are products of the successful partnership we forged with Abernehty U19’s and have been regulars in the Newburgh line up this season.
Ben was a much sought after left sided player who flourished under the management team of Willie Hutchison and Pete Robertson at Abernethy U19’s. He suffered an injury that way laid his early season in the final year of youth football but when he did start playing regularly again he looked every bit a junior player. Scott Hudson tracked his progress and was keen to add him to the Newburgh squad this season where Ben has grown into the regular left wing back role. Good in the air, with a magnificent first touch he is a threat going forward and defend well too. Scott Hudson was delighted to have tied Ben down to a longer deal at Newburgh ” left sided players are difficult to come by and one with the all the attributes that Ben has is a real bonus for us. He is a hugely popular member of the squad and works like a trojan at training and during games, I am over the moon to have secured his services long term at the club”.
Jack joined Newburgh on a delayed contract in season 2017-18 and has been a regular in the team since signing, Ben joined us at the start of this season and has really quickly established himself in the team.
Manager Scott Hudson is delighted to have both Jack and Ben commit to Newburgh long term “I am really keen to keep the core of the squad developing together and both Jack and Ben are integral parts of this. These lads both have great attitude and work ethic which make them a real pleasure to work with”
