Youth football update

Interest continues to grow in youth football for Newburgh.

There have been several contacts made with us over the last few days which is really encouraging. If you have been thinking about getting in touch please do. The more interest we get the more likely we are going to be able to progress the plans.

To everyone who had been in touch thank you we have noted you interest and will be in touch.

To everyone else that is interested please let us know as we need to keep the momentum going.

We are going to arrange a get together next week to have a chat and set out a plan to get things moving but we need your support. Please let us know that you are keen to have your child participate and if you can offer assistance.

We will arrange a get together for an evening next week as the weekend does not suit a few people who would like to attend.

Watch this space for details later in the week

Burgh lottos draw

Numbers 2-18-20 were drawn this evening in the lotto draw

No winning tickets matched the numbers so next week the prize pot rises to £200

Kirrie Thistle 5 Newburgh 0

Newburgh ran out of steam in the second half today at Kirriemuir losing 5-0 to the league leaders.

It was a very positive first half where Newburgh more than matched the home team.  The ‘Burgh were unlucky to go in 1-0 losing a scrappy goal almost on the halftime whistle.

Kirrie upped their game from the start of the second half and ran out worthy winners.

Newburgh head into Angus again next Saturday with a visit to Arbroath Vics on the cards.

Signing News at East Shore Park

Newburgh manager is delighted to have been able to secure the signing of Liam Keiller in time for today’s game against League leaders Kirrie Thistle.

Asst Mamager Kurt Herd said “Liam is a great addition to our squad and we are over the moon to have secured his signature. Added to our recent signings of Gavin Wilson and Greg Birmingham this is exactly what we needed to push on for the remainder of the season”.

Thank you to everyone who has responded and made themselves known to us thus far. We are very encouraged by the feedback and feel there is a real desire within the town and surrounding area to move this project forwards.

The committee will be at the coffee morning tomorrow morning if anyone would like to register an interest in any aspect of establishing a youth football set up in the town.

Assistance will be required with the administration, coaching and spreading the word to encourage the players to come along and take part so if you feel you can help in anyway please make yourself known to us so that we can keep informed of the progress.

We are going to hold an informal get together on Saturday 10th of February in the club room at East Shore Park to allow us to establish who can do what to assist. Attendance is encouraged as the more help that is offered the less of a load is taken on by each person.

The meeting will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday the 10th of February at East Shore Park.

Anyone for Youth football?

Newburgh are keen to establish a youth football set up at the club and would be interested in hearing from anyone who would like to assist or has a child that they would like to participate

There are several people at the club who have previously been involved with youth football teams and have experience in coaching, administering and fund raising.

We need helpers, coaches and players! No previous experience is required as we can provide mentoring and assistance to anyone who is willing to help or participate.

We would like to hold an open meeting to allow anyone with an interest to come along sit down over a cup of tea and have a chat about what the options may be.

If you are interested in helping in anyway with
