Newburgh 2 – Brechin Vics 1

A superb second half performance by Newburgh today resulted in them taking all three points on offer in the North league encounter today at East Shore Park.

Newburgh battled hard in the second half following a lack luster first half performance that finished with the visitors 1 – 0 at the break.

Goals from Scott Maxwell and a penalty converted by Andy Reade left the home fans delighted with a fantastic second half performance against a young but dogged Brechin Vics.

Coach Steve Clark was delighted with the result which builds on Wednesdays away win at Coupar Angus. “There was a better shape to the team today, something the gaffer has been stressing week in week out to the lads. They were playing as a unit today and deserved the win on the balance of play”.

Newburgh have a midweek fixture again on Wednesday when high flying Glenrothes visit East Shore Park. Here’s hoping for another great performance from the ‘Burgh.

Kick off on Wednesday is at 19:00

Why not come along to see if Newburgh can win two on the bounce when they welcome Brechin Vics to East Shore Park this Saturday.

A spirited second half last night at Coupar Angus with 5 goals (4 for the ‘Burgh) was worth the entry fee on its own.

£4 adult – £2 child/concessions is all it costs for an afternoons entertainment.

It would be great to see a few more of you on Saturday.
